It was my first year playing Subbuteo. I just established my first club and was hard trying to learn the rules ... and for sure I wasn't aware of the EC.

I attended the finals in Italy. Italy participates with Stefano Beverini who was the defending champion. For the second player, there was a real championship. I was eliminated from the winner Federico Zollo then finished fifth at the European Championships.

i had 15 years.....

Haibach Euro 1975

In this event alongside each craft materials (iron goals) or not in production (flat) with new materials that Waddington wanted to push.

In the picture you can see the enemy of Zollo, who played with the flat and the pitch with iron goals. As Zollo said he realized better than Beverini on how to counter those who played with the flat, and more luck could have written an important page in his career.

Hans Mertens, the local organiser, is still member of our association though he is no longer playing as an active player. I hope to get him to Rain in September ....
