thx a million, Marcus (incl. the cake Very Happy ).

Your tournament-software is awesome. Great job!

This should be standard for all FISTF-events.

The regulated breaks via computer between the games and at half-time, make sure the tournament run smoothy and organise the disciplin of players and teams automaticly.

Again an enjoyable Subbuteo-event without any trouble in a wonderful fairplay athmosphere!!!!

The only answer to the question from certain people: 'How many players do you have in Germany?' is:
'How many players are playing OLD SUBBUTEO in Italy?' Exclamation

From my point of view the atmosphere was really great and friendly.
The feedback we got so far was really good, so I think, most participants have had a good time in Berlin.
Does anybody know, where all the signs from the scoreboards have gone? Many missing...

The book 'Fair-play and sticking to the rules' got a new chapter in the ladies category.
Imagine the following. In a group of three, a twelve year old girl who started playing four weeks ago, had the World's number one and the German championesse in her group. She lost with a respectable 0-7 to the number one and she got a 0-0 versus the well-experienced German lady! With these results she had been already knocked out although the third match was not even played...
why?
Even if World's numer one had beaten her opponent 25-0, the scoreline would have been cut down to 5-0, so both players had one point and a goal-difference of 0-5. With that the experienced player was qualified because of her higher rank in the World ranking.
Who ever had the idea to implement that rule to the handbook did a very good job in demotivating new players...

And for the cake: 10 years in a row deserve at least a cake ;-)

The software worked fine... Usually you get the complaints that the timeline is too loose and the breaks too long. This time the timer gave some pressure and the complaints were that the breaks are too short ;-)
Anyway it may need some adjustment for the knock-out stage but for the groups it was perfect...

Ahh, by the way... full results are online at http://www.gpberlin.de.vu/results2011.htm

When I see this cake and the "tribute to SMV Delft", I think it's how table football should be. Friendship is much more important than competition. Well done! cheers

Hats off for Marcus and his crew! (Do you have a crew...?)

I had high hopes of visiting Berlin for the first time, but many unfortunate things (well, life) made it impossible again.

The cake idea was wonderful!

It was a farewell present... The most idiotic rule change I can think of. Completely against my logic. And done without asking, or finding out, what the problems could be. Or perhaps not giving a damn.
